Tech Open Air Berlin is an interdisciplinary technology festival. It brings together technology, art, music, and science. The format was “conference meets festival.” TOA was founded in 2012 by Nikolas Woischnik, and partnered with MINI in 2014. Club GLOBALS had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Nikolas, check it out!

TOA combines creative and technology industries. There were up to 175 international speakers, corporate and community partners, and entertainment acts. The conference was held at Protzen&Sohn, a now-converted former carpet factory. The talks, debates, and workshops had a central emphasis on shared inspiration and networking.

Speakers included Georg Petschnigg, CEO & Co-Founder of FiftyThree (Creators of ‘Paper,’ Apple’s 2012 iPad App of the Year); Andy Walsh, Director of High Performance for Red Bull’s global athlete program; Danae Ringelmann, CEO of Indiegogo (the world’s largest crowdfunding platform); and many more!
